What you will need for the dough

  • 3.5 to 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 packet of instant dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

This makes enough dough for 2 pizzas

Add the water into your mixing bowl ( I use a stand mixer, but you don’t have to) Add the yeast into the warm water until it is mostly dissolved. Then add the sugar. Add one cup of flour, the oil and salt. I always like to give my yeast and salt a little barrier of flour because if you add the salt right on top of the yeast it will start to break down the yeast and we don’t want that. As the mixer is running add another 2 cups of flour.

Once your dough starts to come together it is ready to start kneading

Throw some flour on your counter and knead the dough for about 5 mins.

You want your dough to bounce back if you pull at it and let go like this…

Now take a bowl and coat it in oil. Put your dough ball into the bowl and flip it so it is covered in oil. Cover the bowl with a towel for an hour.

Don’t clean off your counter of flour just yet…. we will need it in the next step. After an hour the dough should be about 2X the size. Pour the dough out onto the floured counter and cut in half.  Put on a plate and let rise again for 10 mins.

SIDE NOTE: If you are only going to make one pizza put the other dough in a bag and throw right into your freezer, the dough will be good for about 6 months. Just thaw it out next time you feel like making pizza

While we wait the 10 mins, lets pre heat our oven to 400 F

10 mins later…

The dough is now ready and it is time to put our pizza together. Today Pat and I are making a 6 cheese stuffed crust pizza. That’s right 6 cheese stuffed crust pizza!!

What you will need for our 6 cheese stuff crust pizza

  • 1 block of whole milk mozzarella cheese
  • about 6 Cheese sticks
  • Shredded Romano
  • Shredded Asiago
  • Shaved Parmesan
  • Whole milk ricotta
  • one small can tomato sauce

Shred your block of mozzarella cheese, open your cheese sticks and can of sauce

On a pizza pan spread your dough out to the edges. Roll the cheese sticks all around the edges, sealing the cheese in.

Next spread the sauce and start putting on the cheese! First the Mozzarella, Asiago and Romano.

Next layer the Shaved Parmesan and put a few dollops of ricotta.

While you are doing the layering eat as much extra cheese as you like! I like to dip mine in the sauce first!

Finally the pizza is ready to go into the oven!! Cook the pizza for 20-25 mins or unit it is golden brown.

….20-25 mins later….

This pizza was amazing. The best we have made so far!
